A concrete example

A microscopy study records subjects and samples, specimen preparation, acquisition settings, file relationships, correlation across modalities, analysis workflows, annotations, and derived outputs before BioImage Archive submission.

Why it matters: Supplies specimen, acquisition, analysis, and annotation context needed to assess imaging cohorts, while label quality, image QC, de-identification, and split governance remain separate controls.

What it fits with

Complements OME-NGFF image arrays and technical metadata, ISA multi-assay study context, and RO-Crate packaging; it addresses biological and experimental context rather than pixel serialization.

Start with one bounded handoff. Pin, test, and review it before scaling.
